Siliserh Lake & Lake Palace — a self drive trip from Alwar

Boating, a lake palace and an easy sunset drive out of town.

Siliserh Lake & Lake Palace

At a glance

Siliserh is a large lake ringed by Aravalli hills, a short drive south-west of Alwar on the way towards Sariska. A 19th-century royal palace on its bank is now a heritage hotel run by Rajasthan Tourism (RTDC).

It is the easiest half-day escape from the city: drive out after lunch, take a boat on the lake when boating is open, and stay for the sunset over the water.
